CLUB AWARDS - UNDER 11 TO OPENS

These awards are to encourage each player that their contribution to their team is not based solely on their match-day performance, but their overall conduct as a member of the team, and their level of commitment each week.  They are awarded to players in competitive teams only (Under 11 and older).  Two awards are given to each team from following six categories

REDBACKS AWARD
A player who has overcome an adversity to contribute to the team
  • The adversity ma be physical, mental or emotional
  • This player has had a tough time but dispute this has triumphed
  • A player that shows commitment and genuine interest in the game
  • A player that shows keen interest in advancing their netball skills


BEST AND FAIREST AWARD
A player who has demonstrated high performance and great commitment to the team, considering the follow factors:
  • Playing contribution to the team (i.e. a ‘for the team’ and not an individual playing contributor to the team)
  • Supportive and courteous to fellow team mates and officials
  • Mindful of others players’ needs
  • A player that shows commitment and genuine interest in the game
  • A player that shows keen interest in advancing their Netball skills​

TEAM ATTACK AWARD
A player who has demonstrated high performance and great commitment in attack play, considering the follow factors:
  • ​A player that shows keen interest in developing their netball skills
  • Contributes to the attack team game
  • Builds others in knowledge of attack
  • High level knowledge and skill in the attack end of court
TEAM SPIRIT AWARD
A player who always has a positive outlook and lifts the team in times of hardship.
  • A player with a positive outlook
  • Awareness of other players' needs and feelings
  • Has a positive presence on court
  • A Player that shows commitment and genuine interest in the game
  • Always displays good sportsmanship

MOST IMPROVED AWARD
A Player who has demonstrated greatest improvement over the season, including:
  • Improvement in playing performance over the season 
  • Commitment and effort at training and games
  • Willingness to listen and learn at training and games
  • General team behaviour and improvement (i.e. relating to others in the team, coach and officials)
  • A player that shows keen interest in advancing their Netball skills​

TEAM DEFENCE AWARD
A player who has demonstrated high performance and great commitment in defensive play, considering the follow factors:
  • A player that shows keen interest indeveloping their netball skills
  • Contributes to the defensive team game
  • Builds others in knowledge of defence
  • High level knowledge and skill in the defensive end of court
These awards are at the sole discretion of the team coach, however the coach may seek advice from others within the club.
