In Net Set Go the coaches also umpire the games and they coach both teams during the game. The length of the game, the size of the ball and the height of the ring changes in each age group. Please contact our Net Set Go Coordinator at [email protected] if you need any further information.
Q: When does the season start and finish?
A: The Metropolitan District Netball Association (MDNA) run the competition and they set the season dates. Usually the season for players who are 10 years and over runs from April/early May until mid August with finals for 11 years and over held towards the end of August/early September. The season dates for this year can be found at: www.mdna.com.au
Q: What time are the games?
A: The game roster is determined by the MDNA at the start of the season. The rostering of the games is a complex job which factors in the number of teams in each age and division and the number and type of courts that are required. Usually the Net Set Go players play at either 8.30am, 9.45am or 11:10am. The older age groups will then play progressively through the day with the Opens teams often playing at 3pm or 4.30pm. Some teams will play at the same time each week and other teams will find that their playing time shifts slightly each week. The roster for the whole of the season is set approximately 1 week prior to Round 1 but may alter slightly as teams move in and out of divisions. Your team coach and manager will keep you informed of any changes but as long as you know your age and division you can find the fixtures at www.mdna.com.au. Please note that COVID-19 restrictions may affect game times.

Cancellation of games is decided by the MDNA who will advise the club and will post notices on their website www.mdna.com.au and on Facebook www.facebook.com/MetroNetball. The coach has the discretion to impose penalties for not attending training which may include limiting the player’s participation in the games for those who do not attend training when required.
Q: How are teams selected?
A: Net Set Go teams are selected around age, experience and we may also take into consideration friendships or school connections. This email will then be passed on to the age group sub-committee for their comment who will then respond to the email.
